Steps to Change a Motorcycle Tire

When it comes to how to change a motorcycle tire, isn’t that difficult, but there are a few steps to follow. Don’t feel like dealing with the hassle in Vancouver? Schedule an appointment at our service center for our service technicians to do the hard work for you! If not, follow the steps below to learn how to change a motorcycle tire:

  • After the tire is removed, remove the wheel from your Harley-Davidson and take this time to check the tire for any needed repairs.
  • Next, you’ll need to deflate the tire and remove the valve stem core. Be sure the tire is completely deflated to avoid damaging the rim.
  • Next, you’ll need to break the bead. You can do this by using a bead breaker, a tire iron, or even just pressing down on the sidewall of the tire with your foot. Now, get the tire off the rim and set it aside.
  • Then, unbolt the valve stem and take the tube off the rim. After you’ve inspected the rim to make sure it’s undamaged, replace the tire after adding a coating of bead lube to the new tire and installing a rim strip if you have spoked rims.
  • Finally, reinflate your tires.

When to Change Motorcycle Tires
